At the south end of Main Street in Fertile is situated the Rhodes Mill (1868). The mill is located on the Winnebago River, which has been dammed to form a large mill pond. The mill was constructed as a flour mill, and it is still in use today for grinding food products. In design, the three-story building has a ridge monitor with low one-floor shed roof sections that visually hold the building to its site.
