This Brutalist design of ribbed precast concrete panels harmonizes with the nearby concrete monster, I-225. Landscaping on the building's sloping, earth-filled roof verges has been removed, adding to the starkness. Pointed prows of enameled aluminum panels extend in bays on the north and south to serve as entrances, reception and office spaces, and a cafeteria. Large panels of glass brick, forming “the largest air-based solar space heating system in the world,” let in light along the sides of the huge garage.
