Highland School was enlarged in 1923 to its current H plan. A grand, ogee-arched entry surround adorns the south facade. The red brick Romanesque Revival building features round arches in gray sandstone, with the entrance inset in a central protruding bay with a pedimented dormer. A central bay to the north connects the addition, with its banded fenestration. Brick, stone, and overhanging eaves are matched in the addition, which is distinguished by different stonework in the foundation and window treatment. A first-rate restoration as a residential complex includes beautifully landscaped grounds.
