Another good example of vernacular adaptations, this hall has stuccoed adobe walls and side-gable roofs. The Sociedad Protección Mutua de Trabajadores Unidos (united workers' mutual protection society), a fraternal and insurance society, opened Chama's Concilio (meeting hall) No. 31 on October 7, 1920. Except for the large headquarters in Antonito, in Conejos County, where the organization was founded in 1900 (see Conejos County, CN04), the local meeting halls tended to adopt the human scale of the village moradas.
