Fire Station No. 18

-A A +A
1912, Edwin H. Moorman. 2205 Colorado Blvd. (northwest corner of E. 22nd Ave.)

This fire station on the east edge of City Park set a fine standard for bungalows, the most common house type in the Park Hill neighborhood across the boulevard. Edwin Moorman's design bristled with porticos, pergolas, gabled projections, and extended, bracketed Craftsman rafter ends. The simpler building actually erected retains the dark red Harvard brick, columned pergola, Palladian window, and many Craftsman details.
