Built for local theater mogul Harry Huffman, this flamboyant house was inspired by set designs for the monastery in the 1937 movie version of Lost Horizon. The west elevation reveals a chevron motif and stylized flower pattern in a vertical Art Deco panel above the terrace. The entrance rises through the white stucco wall to exaggerated eaves with ribbed soffits. Flat, projecting roofs and bright aluminum banding provide strong horizontal accents.
