This house in the Queen Anne Style minus the usual fancy wood trim was built for John Brisben Walker, a northwest Denver developer who also owned Red Rocks and sold it to the city for use as an amphitheater park. Walker later moved to New York City, where he owned Cosmopolitan magazine until he sold it to William Randolph Hearst. Reversing the usual Denver pattern of brick houses trimmed in stone, this gray rhyolite domicile is trimmed in red brick.
