Colorado industrial tycoon Charles Boettcher established this ranch in 1903. The most conspicuous building is one of the largest stock barns in the West, a 100-footlong, L-shaped frame barn with a red-painted exterior under a gambrel roof. The loft accommodated community dances and parties. The Big Horn Land and Cattle Company, a 100,000-acre spread, is one of the state's largest and best-known outfits. This well-kept complex in a verdant meadow along the North Platte includes a hewn log cabin among numerous frame outbuildings.
