
A contemporary version of rustic mountain architecture, this community center and skating and boating house is built of peeled logs, with prominent dormer windows in the gabled roof. A glass pavilion and open decks overhang the lakefront. The stone-clad cement base, wrought iron tree branch door handle, wrought iron chandeliers, raw wood interior, and massive fireplace make this a fine modern edition of the area's rustic style. The $1 million, 5,000-square-foot structure was pre-fabricated in Montana, where logs were cataloged by size and position and then trucked to Evergreen for assembly.
