A skin of Trinidad sandstone, from the nearby James Radford Quarry, and two-story Ionic columns like those of City Hall across the street are used in this standard Carnegie design. On the site where Gabriel Gutierrez is said to have built Trinidad's first cabin, this library has a pristine interior sparkling with the original high ceilings, stained glass lunette windows, golden oak card catalog, and wrought iron book racks.
