King of the hill is a huge, hotel-like estate, 9 miles up Old Snowmass Road from Colorado 82, designed for Walt Disney Company president Michael Eisner. The log lodge on a stone foundation combines the rustic forms of an Adirondack camp with a Rocky Mountain ranch. At the heart of the irregular plan is a timber-trussed living room with sandstone fireplace, French doors, and double-height windows framing views of the mountains and river.
