Gordon Sweet, a Colorado Springs architect, designed this hospital as flat-roofed, single-story, rectangular modules of red brick trimmed in gray limestone radiating from a taller entrance bay. In a limestone-paneled wall, a tall, multipaned window with a subtle cross motif lights the waiting area. Brick wings with mansard roofs contain a nursing home and a small brick chapel. This stylish contemporary structure occupies the site where St. Joseph's first opened in 1907 in a converted house.
