The original pool and frame bathhouse developed by town founder James Crawford has evolved into a large aquatic complex, designed by local architect Lincoln H. Jones. A 350-foot water slide—a fiberglass tube 4 feet in diameter—snakes down the hillside to discharge bathers into the pool. The restored historic source pool of this popular all-season watering hole is the starting point for a walking tour of seven of Steamboat's estimated 150 springs, which gush from the earth at temperatures ranging from 58 to 150 degrees F.
