Germania Block (now Bilden's SavMor Drug)

This is by far the most handsome building in the downtown area. Its lively street facade consists of six Romanesque arches, and above, the entablature exhibits a strong primitive version of tri-glyphs. The rugged Mankato quartzite surface reinforces this sense of the primitive. The first floor has been remodeled, but the upper two floors and the pediment remain intact.
