Several variations of this design were published in George F. Barber's pattern books, as well as in his magazine, American Homes. This is a remarkable composition with an irregularly contoured central fireplace and chimney mass, off which projects a brick arched entrance porch on one side, and on the other side a wonderful bulbous bay tower. Note such delights as the oval “Colonial” window plunging through the brick chimney, and the “witch's hat” roof topping the bay tower.
