The architect has obviously sought to create a form for the synagogue that would be different from that of a Christian church, and he has certainly succeeded. The principal facade of the building appears as a pylon with two low towers projecting above the roof cornice. A large arch embraces a three-part entrance, the center of which terminates in a circular window with semi-circular windows to each side. The remainder of the building has a fortresslike quality, with the walls penetrated by patterns of arched windows.
