Binford House

-A A +A
c. 1870s. 110 2nd Ave. N.

The entrance and the three windows on the street facade of this two-story brick house display curved lintels that sorrowfully droop down each side. The south side of the house has a composition of a single-story porch, then a two-story wing with a large angled bay, and, further toward the back, a porch that repeats the one in front. A pattern of large and small brackets supports the overhang of the low hipped roof. It all adds up to a solidlooking post-Civil War version of the Italianate style.
