House

-A A +A
1890. Northeast corner of 6th and Walnut streets

Porches are the theme in this large suburban Queen Anne dwelling. The entrance porch and connecting wide veranda start off with arches rendered in light sawed and turned wood; gradually a new motif of spindles and segmental arches is introduced. This latter motif then continues around the corner. The second-floor porch over the entrance has much heavier columns, and its segmental arches are now solid.
