The architect has opened up the corner into a small plaza, but at the same time he has maintained a sense of enclosure and of the two streets coming together. At the corner, appearing almost as a ruin, is a sloped form sheathed in gray granite; this is connected to the L-shaped building by pergolalike horizontal beams sheathed in matte-finished aluminum panels. The fenestration of the glass area of the inner “L” of the building is almost domestic in scale.
