This building, originally a private home, was initially designed in the Eastlake mode, but later (c. 1900) a Colonial Revival porch was added. The combination of these two elements worked out quite successfully. In the post-World War I years an unsympathetic box was added to the side, but the house is strong enough in design to maintain its earlier character.
