Now a public building, this single-story board-and-batten Gothic cottage was originally built as a residence. The bargeboard gable ends and roof eaves are countered by double-hung windows and a Federal-style entrance with a transom. Set back from the street and surrounded by ample trees and lawn, the building does not at all seem to be a public building.
