The pair of great columns set within the front recess of the building, plus the templelike entrance and other details, declare the design to be Egyptian. The building's brick front suggests a pylon; the detailing is carried out in vibrant yellow, blue, and green glazed terracotta (including the relief sculpture of a globe of the world at the apex of the building). The post-World War II modernization of the facade, including the grillwork and the horizontal slab roofs, do not enhance the original design.
