This is another of Ottumwa's Tudor Revival dwellings. In this instance the architect has enriched his design by references to the classical tradition, and to the Craftsman style which was then the rage. Although this design was probably meant to be responded to as English Tudor, its plan, the general horizontality, and the low pitch of the roofs are purely Craftsman. The deep entrance-cum-living-porch, which is really treated as a separate open pavilion, exhibits two “primitive” classical columns; above this porch on the second floor is a wide splayed bay window, with dentils and a classical cornice.
