The only survivor, and the most modest of five houses designed by Jenney in Manistee, this one was for E. P. Case (1845–1886), lumberman John Canfield's bookkeeper. The L-shaped, clapboarded wooden house rests on a limestone foundation. Its intersecting gabled roof with wide overhang is supported by open brackets and decorative king-post trusses and crowned with finials.
