Leonard B. Willeke designed the total environment—house, furniture, hardware, lighting fixtures, tilework, carving, and landscaping. Alfred F. Nygard executed the wood carving. Willeke also designed the adjacent Ernest Kanzler House at 2501 Iroquois Avenue in 1917, with a garden by Jens Jensen, and the Joseph T. Webber House at 2475 Iroquois in 1917. Each elevation is carefully created in the relationship of solid to void and rhythm to detail.
