The long, low, red brick cafeteria with a transverse gabled roof above a clerestory level is entered at its center and on both ends through limestone portals with splayed pointed arches. Inside, the tall dining hall was inspired by English medieval “great halls.” While the ground-level food service configuration has been repeatedly altered, the walls and laminated wood pointed-arched ceiling have hardly been changed.
