Cottage, Building 26

Originally built as staff housing for the Stewart Indian School, this single-story, L-shaped stone building formerly served as the Washoe tribe's cultural center. The modest structure has a main entrance sheltered by an open porch nestled in the junction of the wings. The wall flanking the entrance has board-and-batten siding. Wide horizontal wood boards trim the upper gable ends. The building represents a successful example of adaptive reuse, which could preserve the complex.

While it is no longer in use, the cottage is still owned by the Washoe Tribe.
