Built at the high point of the Stick Style, this house is one of the earliest in Emporium. An ogee-roofed, square corner tower with Queen Anne windows was added in 1890, but the Stick Style elements remain, especially in the gable end on the facade. A similarly fanciful Stick Style residence remains at 338 W. 4th Street.
