One-and-a-half miles north of “The Locusts” on Conewango Creek, Robert Russell built this ruddy brick five-bay house. The relative sophistication of Warren's early settlers, broadened by their river travel, is apparent in the choice of architectural style. The gambrel-roofed barn is banked into the hillside just north of the house. At 20 Conewango Street, a c. 1841 white frame house constructed with foot-square beams has been owned by the Chase family since the 1850s.
