Although best known for their Moderne skyscrapers ( PH70, PH72), Ritter and Shay inserted a much smaller-scaled building sensitively into its existing urban context. It is the third building to stand on the site; the first was provided by the town's founder, Ludwig Eyer. The Gothic Revival church is constructed of randomly coursed quarry-faced brownstone that makes it look older than it is. In 1956, its Arts and Crafts interior was restored and a Sunday school was added.
