Now a popular music venue, the Tower Theater is conservatively styled with a classical lower facade and tower, but with a steel radio tower that gave the building identity at the beginning of the media age. Scattered around the district are a host of one- and two-story buildings by lesser known architects, including Thalheimer and Weitz and Stetler and Deysher, who encrusted small-scale commercial buildings with eye-catching panels of brilliantly colored Art Deco ornament that make up the region's best collection of 1920s commercial architecture.
