Rees P. Sweeny House

-A A +A
1896. 405 E. Locust St.

The L-shaped front of this raised clapboard cottage is more than matched by the long wing that extends north along Pecan Street, replete with shuttered windows. A block away at 419 E. Magnolia Street, the Dr. S. B. Maxey House, as the gold-lettered inscription in the transom above the front door announces, is a large-scaled picturesque version of Colonial Revival set amid the live oak trees characteristic of this neighborhood.
