This is the burial place of Pedro Jaramillo, who came to Texas from Jalisco, Mexico, in 1881 as a traveling faith healer to serve the ranches of South Texas. Regarded as a place of pilgrimage since his death in 1907, a gabled brick structure was built around his tomb in 1972. It allows visitors to leave a variety of votive offerings and to place flowers at the foot of a brightly painted life-size statue of the still-revered healer.
