This generous two-story house is a combination of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Shingle Style. The carved wood ornamentation is especially noteworthy. Allen was a merchant and railroad developer who was prominent in the early growth of Hearne; his widow and then his daughter lived in the house until 1979. A native of New Jersey, Larmour came to Austin to compete for the new state capitol project and settled in Waco in 1879.
