Crider, a member of the congregation, designed this structure for the oldest Methodist congregation in San Antonio. The original section of the church, which he crowned with a tower, is ornamented with crenellated moldings and topped by a tall spire. The church has experienced excessive alteration and Page's addition of a large auditorium facing Navarro Street. Sadly, in 1955, a fire destroyed most of the church's original interior.
