Emulating the success of a decade earlier of his seminal The Galleria in Houston, developer Gerald Hines (Hines Interests Limited Partnership) planned the Dallas Galleria with three levels of shops along an indoor ice-skating rink. Two office towers with barrel-vaulted roofs bracket the eastern entrance, and a similar hotel tower anchors the western cross-axis of the skylit space. The complex is located at a major freeway intersection with one of the few true cloverleaf designs built by the Texas Department of Transportation.
