The Willingham House is an exact copy of Barber’s Modern Dwellings 3, No. 43. The house is in exceptional condition, including the interiors, and retains original woodwork, built-in cabinetry, and fireplaces. The house illustrates Barber’s later house designs that were an eclectic assemblage of Eastlake turned posts and spindlework, Palladian-styled windows, and Queen Anne gables and towers. Charles H. Willingham served for twenty years as the first county judge of newly formed Runnels County, then four years in the state legislature, and finally developed ranching and farming enterprises.
