The Carnegie History Center (Carnegie Public Library)

The former Carnegie Library is an Italianate, two-story brick building, which, unlike typical Carnegie libraries, lacks classical motifs other than an oversized split pediment on brackets over the front door. A 1936 expansion to the west doubled its size. The building has accommodated the Smith County Historical Society and museum since 1982.

Across the street at 124 S. College, the Jenkins-Harvey Super Service Station and Garage (1929, James P. Baugh), is a typical urban station design with a second floor for offices extending over the corner gas pumps and drive-through area.
