Situated on the Right Fork of Garden Creek, this is a good representative of numerous late-nineteenth-century rural dwellings in Buchanan County. The two-story frame house covered in weatherboarding is a standard central-passage single-pile structure with a two-story gabled porch sheltering the main entrance. Less common are the segmental-arched surrounds of its double-sash windows and the delicate porch sawnwork and spindle frieze. An unusual decorative feature is the diagonal-patterned woodwork at the gable ends of the house. A rear ell with a large stone exterior-end chimney appears to be an original part of the house.
