One of the best-preserved early-twentieth-century schools in Dickenson County, this imposing building stands perched on a ridge overlooking the highway. The school is a large, two-story, flat-roofed brick building on a stuccoed foundation with bands of windows and a facade accented by piers capped with concrete coping. The central entrance is flanked by stylized fluted concrete pilasters that rise above the second story to a stepped concrete panel featuring an open book and torch design in bas-relief.
