Piedmont Arts Association (Schottland House)
The core of this art museum is a lumbering red brick house that was later remodeled into a more formal, painted residence. The two-story porch vaguely reminiscent of Mount Vernon's was added c. 1920 and a few years later the one-story wings were given a second story. In 1981, the Schottland Estate donated the house to the Piedmont Arts Association, which made it the headquarters of its active cultural center. In 1998 a large wing was added and named Toy Cobbe Arts Center.
