Price House

1850–1855, 1950s. 107 Wharton St. SE

This house is one of a small group of one- and two-room weatherboarded log dwellings, standing alone or incorporated into later dwellings, that are the town's earliest extant domestic buildings. The two-room two-story house of modest proportions retains early weatherboard sheathing and its original shouldered chimney at the eastern gable end. Alterations in the 1950s included removal of the central front entrance door and the addition of a two-story ell porch. The house with its landscaped garden is open as a nature center and park.
