Situated at the crossroad village of St. Luke, the store is a concrete-block two-story building painted white. It is one of Shenandoah County's best-preserved rural general stores. Walker's has rusticated concrete-block quoins and a stepped parapet at each corner and one at the front. Tall bay windows displaying dry goods flank the central entrance and a wrap-around porch supported by metal poles provides shade for patrons. Once a common rural building type in the county, the general store has almost disappeared from the landscape and those that do survive are usually abandoned. In contrast, Walker's is still in use as a significant establishment in a remote area of the county.
