Virtually unchanged from its original condition, this hip-roofed brick house on a stone foundation has a five-bay facade with a central one-bay entry porch. Unostentatious in the extreme, the two-story facade exemplifies the area's conservative interpretation of the Greek Revival. Not so the twin brick dependencies in the side yard. These unusual little octagons with complex rooflines (alternating hipped and gabled sections) served originally as a bathhouse and smokehouse. They are visible from the county parking lot that abuts the Price property on Jefferson Street. “Governor” Price was elected lieutenant governor of Virginia in
