One of the few contemporary buildings in Westcliffe incorporates an older building into its structure, and its facade pays homage to the town's architectural heritage. The library portion to the east is new construction, while the community center is in an old drugstore. John Hurtig, a Pueblo architect, gave the building a roof parapet with a cast concrete capstone, a brick cornice, and brick stringcourses at lintel and sill levels, as well as a round-arched entry transom.
