Spacious grounds and courtyards lead west from the Pioneers Museum to a plaza between the Modernist courthouse and jail. Pre-Fabricated aggregate panels prevail in the new county buildings, but a visual highlight is the polished granite that girds the inset first story of the courthouse, with curved corners that soften the sharp edges of the rest of the complex.
