A clapboard structure expanded over the years with the same primitive planking, the Riverside Hotel is somewhat more elaborate inside, where a huge fireplace warms a tiny lobby decorated with animal horns and old rocking chairs sit in a quaint saloon. The ram-shackle, twenty-two-room hotel was given a rustic look in 1983 by owner Abraham Estaban Rodriguez, who took out “everything that was tin and plastic,” restoring a frontier simplicity to this two-story antique, which follows the riverside contour to minimize excavation.
