1926, 1966. S. 4th St. (northeast corner of Ute Ave.)
This school, reopened as a museum in 1966, has tapestry brick panels to decorate the windowless west entry facade. The parking lot at the rear features one of the cast stone watering troughs that used to sit at the city's major intersections. The museum offers local history exhibits, a library, research collections, and tours of various sites, including Dinosaur Valley ( ME03), Cross Orchards Museum ( ME16), and the Rabbit Valley Dinosaur Quarry, a paleontologist's gold mine 24 miles west of Grand Junction on a marked I-70 exit.
