Supposedly the first masonry structure in a town of canvas and raw pine, this two-story commercial building was built with sand bricks made at the Wason Ranch. With its fancy brick frieze, corbeling, and window trim, it is very similar to the building immediately to the south, differing chiefly in the enclosed outside staircase on its north wall.
