The first landmark to greet anyone driving into Aspen from Glenwood Springs is said to have been inspired by wayfarers' chapels in the Alps. Its shingled spire becomes a hood over the openings of the stone bell tower. A happy wedding of stone, wood, and glass, it features stained glass windows in abstract designs by Jean Jacques Duval.
